Thinking of You AHSC Sketch # 540

Had this post all ready and forgot to publish it and link it to my own sketch.....opps.  As the creator and owner I am allowed to link up late......lol.

I really liked the simplicity of this sketch, and I wanted to use the current SOTM to create this card.  I had some scraps left over from the workshop we did at our Virtual Convention, and seeing as the new catalogs are starting at the end of the week I felt that I could share some sneaks of the patterns.  I used The Good Life paper and the August SOTM, Goodbye Isn't Forever.

For this card I matted White Daisy on top of Habour and then attached to the card base.  Then I chose 2 patterns and Mist Cardstock for my laters.  The tag is cut from Toffee and I stamped the tree and clouds in 2nd generation Habour and the sentiment in Habour.  I dug through my stash and found from Bronze Sequins from a few years ago.

I hope you will take a few moments to check out the rest of the design teams creations.

Birthday Card for AHSC # 538

Two weeks in a row.....I hope I can keep being creative, as I found myself in a bit of a rut earlier this year, and I really struggled to get back to crafting.

This week's sketch #538 had me stumped on what I wanted to create, I walked away from my supplies for an hour and then it hit me.  I wanted to do some ink blotches on an embossed image.  So I went digging into my stash of embossing folders and found this beautiful flower folder.  I used 3 Distress Oxides and smeared them on my all purpose mat and then sprayed the inks with water.  I really wanted the colours to blend together.

I cut the embossed image apart into 6 pieces and adhered it to a White Daisy Mat that I doodled along the edges.  The card base and the sentiment mat is Habour Card Stock.  The colour inks I used were Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, and Spiced Marmalade.  I used Silver Glitter Gems that I coloured in with a Dark Blue marker.  I like that the image is mainly what picked up the inks, but because I sprayed them with water, that they inks bleed.  It gives it a more water coloured look.

AHSC Sketch # 537 - Thanks for Everything

It's been way to long since I posted on my blog.  Life has been keeping me extremely busy, work, kids, household issues(like my bedroom ceiling collapsing). I've been creating, just never got around to posting.

So here we go.....today's post is for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge using Sketch # 537.  For those of you who might not know but I'm the Host and Creator of the sketches used on this Sketch Blog.  I've been saying to Brandi that I really must start creating using my sketches again, and so here I am.

My creation for this weeks sketch is using papers found in 2 of our retired Mix-In collections.  This sketch is really a great way to use up any scraps that you have lying around.  I used a stamp from a Create With Heart Cardmaking subscription for my sentiment, inked in Sapphire and then I doodled around the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you will check out the rest of the design team creations, by clicking on the link here: Design Team, you will be able to see their creations.

April SOTM Blog Hop - Message in a Bottle

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be creating again, I've missed creating projects for this Blog Hop, but my life was a little hectic for a bit, and now that things are leveling out I'm testing my skills but creating with our April SOTM.

Our April's SOTM, Message in a Bottle,  is a set of 21 stamps and features a great collection of bottles.   LOL, who would of guessed that?

If you have come here from Melinda Everitt's blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog

This month we have approximately 12 Close To My Heart Makers sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

For my project I started my stamping the string of stars multiple times.  I coloured them using our Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers.  My frame is created using scraps of cardstock in multiple colours glued down to a sheet of plain cardstock.  I then used the largest of the Rectangle Frame Thin cuts.  I think this is a fun way to add pops of colour to projects.  Finally, I had to add some sparkle, and decided to randomly add little specks of adhesive to the card front, then using the Gold mini Stars I covered the glue creating this fun look.

Now "Hop" on over to Wendy Kessler's blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the April SOTM is only available until April 30th!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

I used the Distress Oxides in Candy Apple, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Chipped Sapphire to create my background paper. I used Pumpkin Spice Scrapbooking stamp set and coloured the images in using a watercolour brush and 2 of our new colours, Harbour and Papaya. The frame is cut using the rectangle frame thin cuts. The sentiment is from the For All Occasions stamp set.
